Joy moved to California in 1978 from upstate New York, a melting pot of ethnicity, where she learned to love food from all over the world. Polish, Italian, Puerto Rican, African American and German delicacies could be found all over the city of Syracuse. It’s where her passion for authentic cuisine was born. She is not a chef… but a dedicated foodie for all types of delicious cuisine.

After a successful career at the San Diego Union Tribune, she followed her heart directly into the food industry as a Co-Owner of Authentic Flavors Catering. It is where she developed the art of fine catering, custom menu planning & producing one-of-a-kind events & galas. As the partnership dissolved at AFC, La Cuisine Custom Catering was born. As a sole owner, Joy is intimately involved in every stage of event planning. It allows her the freedom to create custom events for Brides, Corporate Clients, Non-Profits & Private Parties. No detail is too small… No event to large… She LOVES all stages of event planning, and is extremely passionate about delivering exceptional service with delicious food.  No two events are alike… but she know each event can be extraordinary. La Cuisine Custom Catering has already exceeded her wildest expectations due to the referrals of happy clients from hundreds of successful events.

Alexa Withrow, Marketing & Event Manager

A Las Vegas native, Alexa grew up in the hospitality industry. In 2010, she began working for a Boutique Wedding Planning Company, CLM Events, where she was responsible for client relations, planning, design, vendor hiring and on site management. In 2013, she took a role at The San Diego Union Tribune in Advertising, where she planned over 100 events (big & small), managed marketing campaigns and established relationships with clientele. Now an event professional at La Cuisine Custom Catering, Alexa brings 7+ years of experience in the industry.
